Recurring changing Desktop Wallpaper

I know I can set up a "screensaver" with recurring changing pictures..... but I wonder if it is possible to have a changing desktop wallpaper changer ?  so that every time I boot up, I get a different wallpaper from a pre-set chosen set of pics?

Re: Recurring changing Desktop Wallpaper

Yes - which operating system are you using because the answer is system dependent
For example Windows 7 includes it and for XP you should install http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=ce1d596b-6851-4948-ab76-b5ff22d37d69

You could use this...http://download.cnet.com/Wallpaper-Slideshow/3000-2336_4-10107447.html?tag=rb_content;contentMain
Quote
This program will allow you to program a list of picture files to use as your desktop's wallpaper. These pictures will then be rotated through on a time interval that you assign. The pictures can be rotated in order (sequentially) or randomly. Version 1.0.0.24 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes

i don't use this myself but my better half does and she likes it.
You can run it using pictures on your hard drive only and also you can block internet access via your firewall if you want - I did
http://www.webshots.com/page/apps and this FAQ answers most of the questions http://www.webshots.com/support/kb/Webshots_Software.html#19
Checking back in my Vista partition I see I used this one http://www.caledos.com/lab/Caledos/downloadC.aspx

I'm with Jim on this.  Webshots is great.  You can load whatever you like into it and get an ever changing selection of wallpapers. Smiley

Re: Recurring changing Desktop Wallpaper

Yep ! Just finished downloading and installing, and doing the first gallery of pics.... took a little while to understand how the "options" worked.... but pic changes every 10 secs now... (you must remember to delete the check tick in the "samples" "active" box... otherwise it will be the one that you see...
Thanks Jim...  (and artmo!)...

Re: Recurring changing Desktop Wallpaper

W A R N I N G......it looks like the first one I donwloaded (sorry steve) has a trojan virus in it.... Cry
seeing another thread on here about XP REPAIR virus... I decided to run Malwarebytes (16 days since I last did one). and it has shown up that

"WallpaperSlidshowInstall.exe"

contains a malware... with the vendor listed as "Rogue.SystemSmartSecurity "
so I have done a removal and hope everything is (was) OK....
Webshots is still working fine... and I am very pleased with it...!
