Really slow page loads and long response times today

OK I haven't done any fault finding beyond "turning it off and on again" e.g. router reboot, but my Bing and Google page load times are horrible today. Google Vids has been buffering to the extent that previewing video is useless, I just have to save it first then export it to see if it is any good.

Not really looking for a solution right now, just getting it off my chest.

It is possible I might have too much happening at once though, got Youtube running in the background ... I have a workspace backed up to Google Drive and it is causing excessive sync activity. I'm thinking about how to relocate the workspace but it is in Visual Studio Code which seems to suffer from "one chance setup". There doesn't seem to be a second chance to change a configuration once I've set it.

In case anyone does know:

I'm doing the Python course at https://programming-25.mooc.fi ( I know, left it a bit late LOL ) and at Part 4 it transitions from an online editor/tester to VScode with the TestMyCode extension. I thought I was being smart using a "cloud" folder for the workspace but it contains a lot of downloaded material in addition to my work files so it seems to be forever synchronising. I'm thinking that relocating it to a local drive might help.

And another thing:

Posting this I see "Waiting for facebook.com". What's it got to do with facebook?

Re: Really slow page loads and long response times today

Fix

Just a follow up because I don't seem to be able to edit my post any further:

1: Note I highly recommend the programming course. It is a slog but that's because it leans on the "Learning by Doing" concept, you can't just skim the text and fool yourself that you're learning.

2: Turns out the exercise files and progress are stored online, well the submitted ones anyway. No need to worry about working in more than one location as it seems to be capable of syncing

3: I couldn't change the folder from within VScode because of course I can't, the command errors, but the folder location is stored in: %appdata%\tmc-vscode_plugin and I know notepad LOL

4: Right now the web page lag seems to have cleared up.

5: Restarting still works wonders
