Re: changes to Hotmail and Outlook

Over the weekend I have received several emails from Microsoft about the impending changes to all versions of Hotmail and Outlook accounts.
As part of the email it provides a link to an update to Windows Live Mail 2012 that is supposed to add facilities to still allow the connection between the two systems to continue.
However on installing this update on two computers both versions of the Live Mail 2012 started and immediately stopped with an error message saying there was a problem and the program was stopped.
The only fix as of now was to uninstall Live Mail 2012 (using the so called update) and reinstall from a backup of the original program (lucky I saved one).
You might want to back up your Live Mail mail folder before you try the update just to be on the safe side.
Regards, P.

Re: changes to Hotmail and Outlook

I was a bit dubious that the email might be malicious so instead of clicking on the link I downloaded a new version of Windows Live Mail from the Microsoft web site page that I found myself.
