Ram Advice ( solved )

hi folks hope you are all well. I pulled out a pc from the cupboard and I couldn't believe I could run Linux Mint 17.2 cinnamon version on it without any problems! It doesn't find my integrated Radeon 3000 graphic card but its seems just fine running on Linux without it.
The other pc is now stuck in the cupboard lol ( has 17.2 mate ) on it. This pc has 1.7gb usable ram though so want a bit more ram. I'm running 32 bit so I know the pc will only see 4gb Max ram. Question is what ram do I need guys? I think I know but want to double check with someone knowledgeable;e here if possible.
I ran in the terminal ( sudo lshw -html >mySpecs.html ) fab command saves your specs to html file Smiley got this from it

This is the pc  http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c02568761
and this link is the memory I think I'm buying  http://www.mrmemory.co.uk/memory-ram-upgrades/compaq/desktop/sg3-110uk-m
pc in cupboard is sadly DDR2. One last thing is it best to keep the ram matched? or could I just buy a 2gb stick to go with the current 1.7gb?
Thanks.

Re: Ram Advice

I didn't mean that one - I meant doing it manually via motherboard reference

Re: Ram Advice

The motherboard is probably the A76ML or the A76GMV but you really need to check the actual reference

Re: Ram Advice

So you could put a 2Gb on 4Gb useable, or a 4Gb for 6Gb and install a 64bit OS on it.

Re: Ram Advice

Yeah I was going to put 64 bit on it but not until I decide how much ram to get.
