What are you trying to achieve?
If you want to capture traffic down to the IP layer, you could install wireshark.
If you want to capture traffic lower level wireless traffic, you could consider Acrylic WiFi or Microsoft Network Monitor.
WinPcap itself wouldn't do anything, it's a component used by other programs such as wireshark.
If you just want to configure your wireless adapter, I wouldn't bother with any manufacturer utility and just use the Windows built-in wireless support.

I have the MSI software for the ralink 2500 chipset if thats any use? - It allows you to put the 2500 based devices into hardware AP mode so that the card is an AP on computer start (no software or services needed).
They're old cards and hard to find now but absolutely excellent for wifi APs.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Sorry I forgot all about this thread.
Don't worry anyway I've dumped my Billion Router & USB Adaptor, had enough of Billion's crap customer service and as for their forum, there's more life in a morgue than there.
I've just acquired a new Asus DSL-AC68U & USB adaptor instead, so hopefully I'll get better software, firmware & CS than Billion.
