Question about port usage - maybe PN can answer?

I take a streaming data service during the day for which the software has been, until today, configured to use port 80. At the suggestion of the helpline on the data service, because of slow streaming speeds, I have reconfigured the port to 7006. The result is that streaming speeds have shot up from around 50kbps to around 1000kbps. The question - is port 80 throttled in any way by PN (which might explain the previously slow speeds). I'm on Premier Option 1.

Yes, some web traffic is rate limited as per the information here. Namely certain download sites and servers.
You can find out which of the traffic queues certain traffic is in by running a Wireshark capture.

Thanks Bob. The server which I am using isn't on the restricted list so I think it might be wrongly priorotised. I shall run Wireshark and see!  Smiley
