I let one of my PC update windows automatically, it updated last night, this morning some of my software does not work (SAGE), so I restored to the previous restore point, this seemed to run OK, the PC reboots and now I get 'missing operating system'.
Going into the BIOS reveals the hard disk is present and recognized (it is a 25GB SSD disc).
I'm guessing as part of the upgrade the disc failed.
Replacing the hard disk is easy enough but how do I install the WIN 10 OS without a product key
Fixed! Go to the fix.

It's well worthwhile having a peep at your disks SMART data every few months.

With technical know-how (ie knowing how to use Google properly) many of the "failed" SSDs can be easily fixed = worth something.

It's all very well being able to use a search engine but that doesn't mean you'll be able to understand the content of the results it produces.
