Problem with new USB2.0 +IEEE card

I have just installed the above card that has 4 USB & 2 Firewire ports as I was lacking any Firewire connections.
Am running W7 32 bity and assumed it would automatically install the correct drivers.
However, I am getting 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)' for both the IEEE & USB interfaces.
I have selected both uninstall and disable and then selected 'Scan for hardware changes' but no change in the errors.
Any clues as to what may be wrong?
Edit: Have moved to a new slot (took out an unused Fax modem card. Now nothing is showing in Device Manager. I am suspecting a faulty card at this point Sad
