Posting a link to a Twitter tweet.

This may sound a silly question, but I can't find a simple answer on the web.

My sister sent me a link to a Twitter 'tweet' which I would like to post on the PN (and another forum), but try as I might I can't see how do this so the result is a properly formatted 'clickable link'.

Although I have a Twitter account, I very, very rarely use it and nosing around last night revealed no clues.

Any help gratefully acknowledged.

Would you not have to be a Twit (or whatever users call themselves) to read it?

Why not just copy/screen grab and paste it?

Does it not work if you right click on the address bar then copy like any other page?

@Baldrick1 No, you don't have be a Twit to read it if it is in a link such as the one my sister sent me - that just opened Twitter when I clicked on it.

Copy does appear to be an option on the Twitter page, and I don't think a screen grab would work very well, for this specific link, anyway.

@198kHz That's what I was expecting, but no, unless I'm doing something wrong.

I know it is possible to create the links, I've seen them elsewhere, but I'm still floundering.

There's something I'm not understanding here, or I'm just being dense, as sometimes happens. 😉

If the link from your sister is clickable, why can't you copy and paste it into a forum post?

@198kHz I maybe forgot to mention, but my sister sent it to me via WhatsApp on my iPhone (an iP5), and there is no way I'm using that tiny screen to try and compose a post for this, or any other, forum - it is much too small and fiddly😉.

You ain't being thick, it's me who (stupidly) didn't post all the required information.

Ah, OK, it's becoming a little clearer.

I can forward a twitter post from WhatsApp to an email address, but I can't work out how to see or copy the URL.

Appreciate what you say about small fiddly screens, which is why I use WhatsApp Desktop - details here .

Maybe you can achieve what you want with that without needing the URL?

Desktop need w8 or higher - I'm sticking with w7 - but I did find WhatsAppweb. Which appears to let me do what I want.

I'm sure there's another way, but while I've found the link, I'll go and post it.

It kind of worked - at least I posted a link to a readable version, but it still doesn't look quite right.
