Packard Bell PC - HDReg at Bootup

When my son boots up his Packard Bell PC now, he gets a message that says something about HDReg. The only thing it allows you to do is Okay the message, and then you carry on as if nothing unusual has happened. I have Googled this message, but the responses are about going into Control Panel, selecting Scheduled Tasks, and deleting HDReg.
Unfortunately, while I can get into Scheduled Tasks, the list does not mention HDReg.
Has anyone any suggestions, please?
Thanks in advance

Re: Packard Bell PC - HDReg at Bootup

That is the process I have already tried. As I said, HDREg doesn't appear in the list, so I cannot delete it, unless it is hidden in one of theitems that is listed. I cannot quote what is listed because, I am typing this on my pc at home, whereas my son's pc is several miles away.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. Onwards and upwards, as they say

Download and run Autoruns,  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902 and remove the tick mark against all references to HDReg

Re: Packard Bell PC - HDReg at Bootup

Thankyou ReedRichard. I'll try that. I wont be seeing my son before Wednesday evening, so it may be Thursday before I can report back.
