Go for the i7 7700K even if u dont overclock it, you still run good speeds of 4.2ghz with 4.5ghz boost, if youdo you will need good cooling Smiley

I don't trust these benchmarks.

I've got 2 x 1TB hard disks & 8GB, so I installed Windows 7 as a VM (using VirtualBox - so not very efficient).

I ran this CrystalDiskMark thing and got:-

Which seems quite respectable, all things considered.

Everything's probably in memory or disk caches anyway.
