Outlook Express

Where does Outlook Express store received e-mails, and what form are they stored in?
Thanks for any answers

Re: Outlook Express

On my XP Home machine it's C:\Documents and Settings\name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{alphanumeric string}\Microsoft\Outlook Express. They're .dbx files.
Not sure about other OSs.

Re: Outlook Express

Thanks very much. A few months ago I had to replace my hard drive. The drive was workable but only as a non-system drive. I recently found the need to recover some old e-mails from that old drive, so I mounted the disk as an E: drive, but didn't know where to find the e-mails.
Have successfuly recovered those e-mails, thanks to you telling me where they were hiding.
All the best
