Open DNS

Looking at the instructions for Opendns or Clear cloud the setup instruction say open the the Network & Internet folder in Control Panel but these folder are both seperate in Windows 7.
Exactly which folder.... Internet Options  or  Network & Sharing Centre should I be looking in and what tab should I be on ?
I Can probally follow it through once I am in the correct part of the right folder from the instructions of the specific forums... It's just getting this first bit correct that I am struggling with.

Re: Open DNS

Network & Sharing centre, Change adapter settings
You might want to consider using a DNS which doesn't give you an advertising sponsored answer if you miss-type a URL.
I'd suggest Google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Re: Open DNS

Try this,
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-TCP-IP-settings
but, if you connect with a router then it will probably be handling DNS, so you need to log in to the router web interface to set the addresses in there.

Re: Open DNS

To enter alternative DNS servers you have to turn off the automatic option, it is then apparent whether it is using the router for DNS.

Re: Open DNS

Thanks for your replies.
I was looking at using Clearcloud or Opendns but using using Googles numbers in the final step.
Any comments are advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Re: Open DNS

Clearcloud also intercepts miss-typed URL's
