Office 2003 Lost Disc

Bit of a long shot.
I have lost my Office 2003 disc and want to reload. Is there a way of getting a replacement disc?

Re: Office 2003 Lost Disc

You will not get one from Microsoft.  You need the licence key (which should be obtainable if 'reload' implies that you have a current copy running).  And you need to specify which of the half dozen or so different versions of Office 2003 you had.  Then it might be possible.

If your installation is still running then the "magical jellybean key finder" will help you identify the information you need.

Yes, I am running a current version. Thanks for the information on how to recover the license key. How do I find out what version I am running?

I use 'Belarc Advisor' for key finding; not sure how it compares with that magic bean thingy.

Re: Office 2003 Lost Disc

This is relatively simple. Locate you key as described in other posts.
The go to My Docs, C Drive, Programme Files and find the Microsoft Office folder. Burn this folder to a CD as an ISO file. . Once done you will have your own copy of Office to reinstall later. Test is it is working by inserting into your CD drive and when it runs it will ask if you want to repair your installation or something similar. If your burner does not support ISO, then download a burner off the internet, there are many free ones out there.

Glynbristol's method sounds too good to be true.  Still, you never know!

Re: Office 2003 Lost Disc

I have legitimately downloaded a trial copy of Office 2003 and activated it with the legitimate product key I had.
However that was a while ago and the source is now well buried under numerous ad links and download managers.

Re: Office 2003 Lost Disc

Yes, but the trouble is that (AFAIK) your legitimate product key will only work for the one particular version of Office (2003 or whatever) that you purchased originally.  So if, for example, you have the key for the Student and Teachers version then I'm pretty sure it won't work with the Basic, Standard, Small Business or Professional editions.  So even if you can find a source of downloads you need to know which of the five versions to download.

I presume from the on-going speculation that my recommendation has been ignored all round.  Lips_are_sealed

I'm hunting for my student and home ed. I have cardboard box and the key just not the disk. If you find a legit download could you pm me. I tried looking on MS website last night but could only find services patches.

It doesn't exist for Office 2003.  The nearest equivalent is the Student and Teacher edition but you were supposed to be one or other of those to purchase it.  'Home and Student versions arrived with office 2007.
HPSause, I don't think you are being ignored.  But the key is of no use without the disc (or equivalent download).

Yes but until OP knows what is installed (and MJKF tells you EVERYTHING you need to know) he doesn't even know what CD/download he needs.  Cool

Re: Office 2003 Lost Disc

Student and teacher, apologies that it's the version I am looking for. The only files for download from ms are service packs. Can't find a public ms  ftp site to try.
