Anyone have any experience with OCR software:- Specifically to convert existing PDF files into 'word searchable PDFs'. Need deskewing and page orientation detection minimum. I'm using Readiris pro at present but with restriction of 50 pages on software and each document needs to be 'started'. Considering ABBYY Finereader or Omnipage 18, would like to point the software at both input and output directory and let it run with 95% recognition. Any ideas/comments appreciated Customer is paying so price is a consideration but not important.
Have you looked at Smart PDF Converter? There are two versions, Standard & Pro, along with a free trial.

Thank replies:- The original files are PDF's as images, I'd like to convert them to searchable PDF's en masse 95% character recognisition would be OK, so an automatic process could work. Still like the look of ABBYY.
