Noscript

Is there any point or advantage in having no script installed on a Linux system, ok I know it's actually installed on firefox rather than the OS but is it necessary if using Linux ?

Re: Noscript

If you're concerned enough to use NoScript, then yes, you would need it in Firefox irrespective of OS.
Personally, although I used to use it, too many sites make use of JavaScript these days to effectively use whitelisting (in terms of frustration factor), and as for managing activation of plugins (Flash, Silverlight etc), the browser itself now has good enough controls. I was using it mainly for stopping annoyances, rather than security concerns.

Re: Noscript

I'm happy with Adblock Plus and the MVPS hosts file served, which I've got plugged in to my DNS server so the entire LAN gets the benefit.
