No more junk mail !!!

No more junk mail - wouldn't that be nice...
Like everyone else I'm used to junk mail - between 150 and 300 a day.  I've used MailWasher Pro 6.1 for years, this tries to sort out the crud from the genuine mails and generally does a creditable job.  However for the last few days every time I've checked my mail there have only been a couple.  I've seen this happen before - then like buses hundreds appear...
My mail a/c is with Freeserve, well it used to be Freeserve but is now Orange.
Anyone else noticed this?  I'm 'not' complaining that my junk mail has almost ceased - just wondering what's happened...
Have those people finally realised that I don't require any Viagra ?  Grin

Oh forgot, you still need viagra, so that is not classed as junk - run away to hide from Gerry

Re: No more junk mail !!!

I guess there are two main probabilities:
a)  Orange has significantly improved their SPAM filter recently.
b)  It's not just the SPAM that you aren't receiving.

Re: No more junk mail !!!

Thanks for the replies...
MauriceC - think you may be right.
I thought for a moment I had a problem with my old Freeserve a/c but I do still get a few emails so presumably the a/c is still ok.  I got this account when I was on 28 k dial up (loooong time ago!)  so I have to connect to Freeserve every few months to keep the a/c alive as no longer using dial up they don't get any money off me!..
Probably get up tomorrow morning and find a few hundred mails in my in-box...

Re: No more junk mail !!!

Have to agree with you again Shutter Smiley  I don't get bothered with junk mail.
I do have a gmail account.  The only thing I notice is that with gmail you can see the spam in your spam folder and then delete it in one click.

Re: No more junk mail !!!

Thanks again for your replies.
MauriceC - you were right!
Checked with Freeserve (well Orange as they are now) and there were almost a thousand emails in my spam folder...
It appears that they have only just switched the filter on as they were all dated from ~25th. Nov - about the time I noticed that suddenly I was getting a handful of mails a day rather than the deluge I normally get.
My MailWasher Pro marks mail as spam but still displays the headers so I can check tho' I must admit I hardly ever do - just hit the process mail button...
Thanks again for your input - I was beginning to think Orange were playing silly and holding back mail.  I'm only able to keep my freeserve address by connecting to Orange once every 219 days and I thought I'd missed the deadline!!!  (all to do with the fact that I initially used dial up)  Grin
Thanks again
