No admin password for windows repair

I'm trying to run repair from a windows XP disc and it asks me for Administrators password.
I know for sure that no password has ever been set for this computer and because I cant type in what it desires I can't advance
I tried typing "admin" and "password" but that doesnt work
Theres no way I can get anything from an administrator other than myself because I was the one who installed XP onto a blank hard drive in the first place
Could anyone please advise
Thanks

Re: No admin password for windows repair

If there really is no admin password then just pressing return should do it. If it does not allow that then there is an admin password set.
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ explains how to get rid of any admin passwords.

Re: No admin password for windows repair

When it was working what did you login as? This is what you need to login as for recovery. So if you had a username fred with no password that would be a admin.
Admin wouldnt work as the default is administrator not admin so try administrator and hit return
