Re: New Laptop

Actually - I no longer work or have a laptop so it isn't relevant - when I did I had a laptop where you could take out the removable CD drive and add a second battery (I had two spare so I could work and drink all the way to the USA)
The problem was the available width of the hinge down tray when you want to have a glass of wine and a bottle on there as well.  Embarrassed

Re: New Laptop

This webpage tells you almost everything you need to know about laptops and netbooks - http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/Laptops.htm
Expert Reviews is the website of Computer Shopper magazine, which tests the laptops reviewed on the website and in the magazine very thoroughly.
Here is the page on the website that links to the laptop reviews: http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/laptops
I have used Dell laptops (Inspiron and Vostro) without any problems many times for myself and have recommended to friends, who bought them.
The laptops offered by http://www.meshcomputers.com/ look good.

I used to use a clip on roller ball on my laptop but unfortunately they stopped making them

I had one of those too, it was on a Toshiba which also had a B&W screen. I don't recall the model but it was in the early nineties.
I bought my wife a Lenevo laptop with a nice spec from Makro for not a lot of money. They have some great offers on laptops.
