Plusnet have replaced my faulty router & I can now get online with no issues. There are 3 laptops in the house, 2 of which are on Windows 7 with the 3rd on Vista, and all 3 are set to 'Home' network. However, if any of the laptops is left online but unused for any time the network changes to 'Public' which means that basically there is no internet access. The only solution is to reboot the router after which the network can be changed back to 'Home'. I've been on Google but cannot find a solution.
Does anyone know of a way to correct this issue?

Are you pc's set for dhcp or static ip addresses?
It might be worth opening the web page of the router (192.168.1.254) goto the home network and forget all the pc's there.
Then on each pc, do a reconnect/repair on the network.
Not used M$ for several years now but that is the gist of it.

Thanks for this; I've done as you suggested & then left all 3 laptops connected to the internet. On returning, they have all retained the Home/Private network setting. I am cautiously optimistic that this has worked. Thanks again!
