Netgear DM200 + R6220 configuration for YouView

I have a Netgear DM200 VDSL modem and a Netgear R6220 AC1200 wifi router. It's worked well with PlusNet fibre broadband since 11/2016 but I now have PlusNet TV and I can't configure it for IPTV. I posted full details to the Netgear community forum here:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/R6000-Series-AC-WiFi-Routers/DM200-R6220-Cannot-configure-UK-PlusNe...

As I said in that post I'm pretty sure this needs new firmware, but I thought I'd cross-post it here in case anybody has an R6220 or knows anything about upcoming firmware for it.

I've read scores of posts about IPTV, in this and other forums, but never seen the DM200 + R6220 combination mentioned.

I may have to change the router. Has anybody got a Netgear R7000 working with a DM200?

Re: Netgear DM200 + R6220 configuration for YouView

base question is, does the router support multicast?
if it doesn't then it won't work.

the modem is irrelevant, it's the router that is important.

Re: Netgear DM200 + R6220 configuration for YouView

It has a setting 'Disable IGMP Proxying'. It's enabled. The manual says:

"IGMP proxying allows a computer on the local area network
(LAN) to receive the multicast traffic it is interested in from the Internet. If you do not
need this feature, you can select this check box to disable it."

It doesn't have an 'IGMP snooping' setting as some routers do (but not Netgear ones, I think).

Re: Netgear DM200 + R6220 configuration for YouView

After further experimentation I can't make the Netgear DM200 - acting as a one-port modem router - work with PlusNet YouView either. See:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/R6000-Series-AC-WiFi-Routers/DM200-R6220-Cannot-configure-UK-PlusNe...

If anyone has any Netgear modem router working with YouView, does it show a WAN IP address against IPoE in 'status'? (In addition to the usual PPPoE IP address.)

And I'm assuming that both PPPoE and IPoE arrive as VLAN 101. Is this true?

Re: Netgear DM200 + R6220 configuration for YouView

The outcome of this is that Netgear decided that the R6220 could not and would not support BT/PlusNet YouView IPTV and replaced it with an R6400. I expected that to work, but it didn't.

I now have test firmware that works for the R6400 as I described in this post:

https://community.bt.com/t5/Connected-Devices-Other/R6400-AC1750-Netgear-Router-and-YouView-box/m-p/...

Thanks to @philbev for providing the screenshot that convinced Netgear that they already had the solution!
