Mysterious attempts to access WiFi

I have recently started using a BT Smart Hub and noticed that every evening at 7pm and 32 seconds precisely the Event Log records an attempt to access my WiFi on the 2.4G channel. This is rejected due to incorrect log in details being given. The attempt is then repeated around every second or so for precisely 90 seconds. It is exactly the same time and for the same period every day. I therefore assume that it is automatically generated.

I have racked my brains and can't think of any devices I have that could be the cause. Has any-one got any ideas?

Re: Mysterious attempts to access WiFi

You could try popping the MAC address into https://macvendors.com/ to see if it gives  you an idea of which type of device is trying to connect.

I must have been really bad in a previous life as this was my 3rd ISP in a row that used lithium.
Now you're stuck with me because my new ISP doesn't run a forum Cheesy

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it is listed as 'private'.

Re: Mysterious attempts to access WiFi

Fix

The mystery is solved. Stuck in a pile of books was an original Kindle belonging to my wife that hadn't been used for ages that I had forgotten about. It appears that it tries to contact, presumably, Amazon every day. Hopefully it's just to check for updates.
