My port 1031 is open. What do I do now?

Limited computing experience. Ran grc.com shiels up scan which revealed port 1031 to be open. All other ports to 1056 are stealthed.
details 1031 name iad2, purpose bbn iad
My firewalls are windows xp firewall and the plusnet low setting firewall.
What do i do now if anything?
how do i close this port or is this not necessary?

Port 1031 has been used in the past for the Xanadu virus.  If you're using a router, this probably has a firewall inbuilt and the use of the Wiondows Firewall and the PlusNet firewall should do the job.
There are various theories as to whether or not the grc.com site is any use or not.

whilst you guys are having your intellectuall discussions into complex computing theoreis i would like to know if i should close port 1031.
can i do this with the plusnet firewall and is so how?
am connected via usb modem not router. cheers

Hi,
If you set the PN Firewall to high, it'll block all incoming connections.  If you use some things like Remote Desktop, this can prove to be problematic, but if you're really just using the internet for web and email usage, you should be absolutely fine.
