My old non fibre router worked fine with my TV new faster fibre one doesn't :-(

We now have a new faster fibre router which is fine most of the day connecting via wifi to the TV, but come 8pm at night it just keeps flashing, no internet connection, then there is, then there isn't, then it will be ok for a bit and repeat........ Also using the iPad has the same problem. The router is still showing blue and if in the same room all is fine. If it asbout the distance and strength why is it mainly at night an OK in the day?
Plusnet said there was a fault on the line so an engineer fitted a new main socket. The same night the same problem. Any ideas gratefully received as the Plusnet on hold music has done my head in today and I gave up, twice!
Thanks

Assuming that ethernet cable is not an option; download a free app on a mobile to check wifi strength in the region of your TV, especially at night. Switching to an alternate band could help.
