Missing Hub Port

I have a Dell Inspiron 570 windows 7 and it supposed to have 3 hub ports but I can only find two in the front,I bought a 4port hub connector but when I plug it in to one of the ports iin the front a message appears stating it does not recongize this connector.

I take it you mean USB ports? as on their spec it says two on the front and four on the rear for that model
see below the four are next to the ethernet socket

The UK version is stated to only have two ports http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-570/pd
There are 4 at the back - have you tried those
What is the model of hub connector you are trying to use

I do not have usb ports at the back,and the the 4port connector is called USB Universal Serial Hub

So what are your keyboard and mouse plugged into?  "Port" is just a fancy word for "socket".  Dell haven't provided the older PS/2 mouse and keyboard sockets on their computers for many years so a Dell computer with only two USB ports/sockets wouldn't have the capacity for anything beyond the mouse and the keyboard.
