Mint 17.1 RC up for download

Latest version of Mint is up.
You can wait for full release in a couple of weeks and upgrade from 17 without a re-install.
Some new features:
Mate now had Compiz available, so wobbly windows and desktop rotating cube are back

Handy that it will be possible to do an upgrade rather than a reinstall.
Is it unusual to have a further version like 17.1 rather that wait until version 18 comes out and then add these new features to that version ?

They have decided to stick with the LTS version and just make changes to the apps. Less chopping and changing. We will have to wait and see how it pans out.

I'm still waiting for the LMDE  update.

Might be a while. I removed LMDE from my lt as I had issues with the s/w I wanted to run on it under Debian. From what I remember the releases (sp's) for LMDE were few and far between.

It was estimated LMDE 2 aka Betsy would have a stable release by November.
I don't know how complete the betsy repos are; if you're feeling brave you could try upgrading
