This links in a bit with strats earlier post regarding wi-fi and Linux.
I Had one computer linked via ethernet cable and it worked fine but I have now shifted it to an alternative site and need to use Wi-Fi but it's now behaving erratically works for a short period then a pop up box appears asking me for my router password and also tells me a wired cable is unplugged.
Is there any command to delete this cable connection message ?

You could disable the nic. Left click on the Network icon and choose disable networking.
This will stop the no cable errors.
