I changed from a modem to a wireless router today. The D-Link DSL 2640B. Microsoft Outlook will no longer connect to the server and send or receive emails. Has anyone got any ideas about where I should start. I have spent 3 hours altering bits and bobs without success. I would be very grateful if anyone has any ideas what i should do next.

A fairly common problem; Outlook will still be configured to use the dial-up connection rather than the LAN.
Just rummage around in the account settings (or use help) and you'll find it.
If you can't post back here what version of Outlook you're using and no doubt someone will point you in the right direction.

Thanks but I tried that one first, making sure the Microsoft Outlook was configured for the LAN and not the Modem. The version I have is Outlook 2000. Grateful for any further help.

Indeed, check IE.
Also, Outlook 2000 I think (haven't used it for a while) may have connection settings in a different place, e.g. per account.
I would also remove the dial-up network settings and drivers for the old modem.
