Memory Cards

I Have been using memory cards in my camera for years but recently purchased some SD cards for a piece of hardware that plugs into the back of my inbuilt CD/Sat Nav I was amazed that I could transfer the whole of my music collection, most in MP3 format to these 2 cards (Sandisk 8Gb) which cost just over £5 each from amazon.

I was lucky recently got a 16G verbatim USB stick from Sainsbury for just under £10

And I thought the 16GB SanDisk from Play @ £12.11 (no delivery) was a bargain!

didnt see the cost, just been reading a Photo mag, they had a 250GB Lexar compact flash card for a Nikon camera  UDMA 7

Amazing how the cost of memory cards has come down, I recall buying some CF Cards several years ago and they were very expensive.
If the cost gets any lower we might as well say goodbye to the hard drive and use flash memory

I'm waiting for the day that decent sized Flash SSD laptop drives become more affordable, although I won't have to wait too long as the prices are still falling quite quickly.
