Mc Afee livesafe

Hi I have bought a HP laptop which has McAfee LiveSafe installed free for a month.do I have to uninstall to install McAfee PlusNet protect or would it be possible to keep LiveSafe by using a serial number from plusnet protect saving the uninstall/install.

In my opinion you would be better to ditch McAfee all together.  I don't like it and it's not popular with other regulars on this forum.

It seems that paid-for Anti-virus software gives the illusion of more security whereas running the likes of MSE/Windows Defender, in conjunction with Spy Bot S & D, Malwarebytes and CCleaner when their security definitions are updated regularly is just as good at preventing/removing infections

Agree Mav , i also believe Paid for AV gives a false sense of security .
Built in win10 AV plus as you say MWB ,Ccleaner  you cant go wrong

Then again any AV is only as good as how it's used. At least once a week updating the definition files beforehand I would say is the minimum.
