Master Sockets

OK my line comes into the house and is connected to a rectangular shaped box with a screw in the centre. (branded with the old T in a circle logo)  out of this box comes another cable  about 8 " long which goes into a BT branded socket which the filter plugs into (same type as an extension socket)
Anybody any idea as to which would be classed as the end of BT's responsibility/ BT master or in other words would I be able to change the  the plug in socket to a nte5 type

Re: Master Sockets

The BT socket your filter plugs into is probably a BT master socket and their property and therefore can only be legally changed by them.

Re: Master Sockets

Everything you described is BT's, you can't mess with it.
(the first box is just a junction box joining cables)

Re: Master Sockets

Thanks,
I thought it probably was, but I was hoping the BT bit might have ended at the rectangular one  Tongue
