This is a reply I just received from MWB:

Hello Mav and welcome to the Malwarebytes product support.
Thank you for choosing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as your anti-malware security solution.
My name is Maurice Naggar and I'll be assisting you today.
There will always continue to be a Free mode use for our anti-malware program. Same as it always has been.
I would caution that you read only what is officially posted by official source on our public forum and company website.
All you ever need to install the program as a free one, is to un-check the box for "Trial" when installing the program.
Customers with pre-existing Lifetime licenses, by the way, will still have Lifetime licenses with the new version too.

Which confirms Dom S' post.

Re: Malwarebytes :)

@ Strat.... I`m using inSSIDer Version 3.0.7.48    ( but prefer the previous version) !... it is free... although it is advertising inSSIDer 4.... not sure if you have to pay for that version...  quite happy with the one I have got... you may be able to download an earlier version
