I was kind of hoping somebody on here may have had an experience with a third party laptop batteries

Not direct experience, but a fella I know over in canada bought an "El cheapo" for an older C2D mac whitebook to revive it's portability, but after a few months the battery suddenly swelled up and split the logicboard, resulting in a duff battery and a well and truly ruined apple, so, be VERY wary of generic batteries, for anything, you never know if they're to the OEM's specs, or if they're just ticking timebombs... Shocked

I do worry about getting cheap batteries, I was kind of hoping somebody on here may have had an experience with a third party laptop batteries,

I've had a couple of third party batteries for a HP laptop over the years.
The original HP battery lasted 2 years the replacement (can't remember where from) lasted about the same but never held quite as much charge as the original.
The last one I got was this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000XD8LEQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 which is now 18 months old and still going strong.

I might take a punt on that £50 one then.
