MSI (nVidia) ..updating drivers

According to the on line update site for my mainboard there are 11 driver updates available and also updates for the BIOS. I have done nothing since 2004 when I bought the computer, and TBH do not feel competent to deal with the BIOS, but am wondering if it might be safe to update the drivers.
Should I tackle or leave well alone on basis of 'if it ain't broke...'? Any particular precautions if tackling?
No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

If everything is working for you then I would not bother with the updates. Many updates are to support newer graphics cards / variants of motherboards which would not give you any benefit anyway.
As for BIOS updates, these can be a problem and if you get it wrong you could lose your whole system. Best to leave well alone.
