I have some MP4 video files, that I want to put on a CD, or DVD, to send out for Christmas to a couple of friends. They are in the u.k. so no problem with the pal or ntsc format... however... On my conversion program... I have these choices
Samsung TV H264 Movie (*.mp4)
LG TV H264 (*.mp4)
Sony TV H264 (*.mp4)
Panasonic TV H264 (*.mp4)
I have no idea what make of tv they are likely to have... and I don`t want to ask them... ( spoil the surprise partly)...
Which would be the probable most likely?
Is there any "real" difference between them... ?
is there a "universal" file format that can be used ..... like bog standard .mp4 or xvid.mp4 on a DVD disc ?
for playing on my computer/laptop, I use "customized MP4 Movie (*.mp4 )" would this work on any T.V. ?
The vids are 1920 x 1080

Depends on what their DVD/BD player will play rather than the TV.
E.g. My old one would play avi/MKV's but not mp4's.
The play on tv is only for things on a usb stick I would think, then you plug it in to the TV not the dvd.

Try Nero, it converts most formats and throws a watchable DVD out when it's finished

Modern tellies are multistandard, so you can view NTSC stuff on a UK TV, SECAM on a US TV, and PAL on a Russian TV, so burn away, the TV will know what to do with it...

Thanks daveplus.... Freemake is an excellent program... and it has two lovely features.... you can "fade" the joins... and also you can join the playlist into one long DVD
Just drag and drop all the files you want in one block...
You can also choose PAL or NTSC , so I chose PAL...
Just finished burning the first one... and played it back on the telly ... and it does a nice job... ....
Thanks to all for replying.
