MP3 error

Within some of my mp3 folders there seems to be a problem.  One of the mp3 files has changed to ".music_folder_player.properties".  The original mp3 file is reduced in size to 1KB.  Any idea what has caused this and how can it be fixed.

Re: MP3 error

You take your backup of your user files...

Re: MP3 error

If it's just a matter of wrong names, then you can rename or delete the small file then change the name of the mp3 file back to whatever it is supposed to be.

As for cause, who knows?  But I would run a full chkdsk on whatever partition of your hard drive was storing the file in case it's a manifestation of a hard drive fault.

Re: MP3 error

How would renaming work?  It is the file type that is the problem.

Re: MP3 error

If you are sure that is really your missing mp3 file then change the name and the file type.  But I don't understand how you know it is the same file

Re: MP3 error

Copy the file to a safe area.

Rename the original; if it is not the lost MP3 file, use the backup copy to name it appropriately.
