I have been asked to sort out a website for someone who cant remember who it is that is hosting it.
Someone set it up for him and since then he has lost contact with them.
Is there a program or something that can tell me what I need to know?
I need to find out whicxh company hosts the site and to whom the domain name is registered
Thanks

Change the option to whois lookup and put the domain name in the text box on this site:-
xwhois.com
That will tell you who is the host, who is the registrar etc.

Two problems. First if someone is hosting it there is normally a fee so hasnt he seen anyone taking a fee?
Second if you find out who it is they may well not let you do anything unless you can prove you own the domain and agree to pay the fees. I have had that and it can be very hard to get any sense out of anyone if its a big hosting most have a control panel which you need a username password and getting hold of anyone is a work of art

Thanks to all
I feel stupid to have asked a question where the answer was so obvious
Having done a bit of detection I found the answers by myself
but thanks anyway
