I have taken delivery of my second new router (Hub One) and installed it this morning. Unfortunately I'm experiencing the same problem I had with the first one, that being that my laptop drops signal every ten minutes (exactly)!
I've reset factory settings, explored all different channels, switched everything off and on again, but nothing works.
All other devices work fine, phones, ipad, Kindle and tv. It's just the laptop.
Any ideas?
Thanks

In that case, it must be a setting on the laptop. What make/model?

It's an old Fujitsu, probably 10 years old. But it didn't happen with our old plusnet hub. It worked fine with that.

If the laptop is faulty, why didn't it fall over with the old router? Its just the new one.

As @Mustrum says, either faulty Wi-Fi adapter - or - somehow, the 'power saving' settings on said adapter have been configured to turn it off every 10 minutes. To be honest, at that age, I would begin to expect problems. It is possible, I suppose that such an adapter is incompatible with the newer router, but I am not a hardware/networking expert, so could just be wrong.

Try separating the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, see. https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/2-4ghz-and-or-5ghz-best-practice/m-p/1351966#M840
Try each band in turn and use the best.

Good idea, @Baldrick1 - a laptop that old will only work on 2.4ghz - wonder if it is trying and failing to work on 5ghz?

Its been a while. but I believe there is also an option on the WIFI tab in the router to reduce the max speed, it may be worth trying that.
