I want to put a version of Linux Mint on a usb stick, but it needs to be formatted first... what system do I use.... the usb will be used on both 32 and 64 bit machines...

NTFS

FAT32]

ex-FAT

and suggestions which version of linux mint 32 bit or 64 bit I should select on the UNETBOOT site

thanks

Re: Linux Live USB stick formatting query

As I understand it it should be FAT32 and if your PC supports it go for x64.

Re: Linux Live USB stick formatting query

Sorry @shutter the answer is No as it's name implies you'd need a 64 bit machine to do that.

Re: Linux Live USB stick formatting query

@shutter - If you've got a 64 bit machine then get the x64 install. Why would want to use 32bit if the architecture is 64?

Re: Linux Live USB stick formatting query

The Live usb stick will be used on BOTH as per my original post...  so I am thinking that a 64 bit version on the stick will not run/install on a 32 bit machine  ? ? ?

Re: Linux Live USB stick formatting query

It would be a very old machine that is not capable of running 64-bit software, even if it ran a 32-bit version of Windows.

Re: Linux Live USB stick formatting query

Fix

@shutter have a look at Multicd

It lets you put both 64&32 bit versions on the same usb stick

As to format FAT32 ONLY.
