Re: Linux Dual Boot DVD-R/CD-R Problem

Spherical objects to it! I've got nowhere fast.

I go back to an earlier question:

"On a general note, is it worth trying to install Ubuntu within Windows using wubi? What pitfalls are there?" (where 'Ubuntu' can be said to stand for any supported flavour).

Thoughts?

Re: Linux Dual Boot DVD-R/CD-R Problem

@thejudge the last time I tried to install Ubuntu within Windows using wubi it did work ok but was quite a bit slower compared to installing it natively

However that was about 15 years ago......

Have you tried the mini.iso from ubuntu? Only 73MB... It does a network install. Even if your cdrom/dvd drive is a bit old and kanckered. It should hopefully just be able to cope with the first 73Mb on the inner part of the disc.

Or flash the 73MB mini.iso to a USB-Stick using Rufus.

Have you tried other applications to burn your ISO to USB/CD/DVD?

These should work on all platforms (32 & 64bit)
