Connecting to the internet via a Linksys compact wireless G USB adaptor. Each time I have click on Plusnet on the Linksys site survey and then on Plusnet wireless on the Linksys profile. any idea's

Which operating system are you using.
If a version of Windows are you using Linksys software or the built in windows system

I assume you have tried these steps http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4090 including the Save Profile at the end

I recommend you ditch the Linksys software (which is manifestly amnesiac) and let Windows control your wireless settings.
