Links to Student Finance website not working via Plusnet

I am unable to access the Student Finance web site via my Plusnet connection. I go to the main site

https://www.gov.uk/student-finance-register-login

on this page is a "Start Now" button which should take me to

https://www.student-finance.service.gov.uk/customer/home

can see the link in the page source code. However, clicking on this just takes me to

https://www.gov.uk

So I keep going round in circles. Tried different browsers and computers - always the same. Has been like this for several days. If I VPN into my office and launch a browser from there it works perfectly.

Do Plusnet have problems with their DNS or web caches somewhere?

using Google DNS

have you tried rebooting your router, clearing your pc's routing tables and cache  (and either disconnecting or rebooting /clearing everything else's cache )

it might sound daft but ive had problems like that before and invariably it was something in my home network providing a defective routing table

Or install a different web browser such as Firefox/Chrome etc

Hi - I tried rebooting the router and clearing browser cache. Links still not working. So powered off the router for 30 minutes and rebooted my computer. Now the links are working. Tried the links on another computer which had not been rebooted and links also work there. So think it was an issue with the router which powering off cleared.

glad it was something so simple
