Laptop rebuild and Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

Hi forum
First post, so please forgive any faux pas...
Recently advised by my laptop's manufacturer helpline to take laptop back to factory settings and "rebuild" due to problems being experienced.  Proved pretty laborious and less than smooth, but seem to have reached a point where most elements are working quite well.  Laptop is an Asus X52F, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Only obvious issue at present seems to be that on completion of startup process I am presented with a screen asking which application I would like to use to open file "David" (this is my husband's name and appears in the administrator tag.  If I select Notepad the following text appears:
Interface List
15...00 26 c7 b0 3d 37 ......Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2
14...00 26 c7 b0 3d 37 ......Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
13...00 26 c7 b0 3d 36 ......Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN
11...20 cf 30 cf 59 bc ......JMicron PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
 1...........................Software Loopback Interface 1
32...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft ISATAP Adapter
12...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft 6to4 Adapter
33...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #2
34...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #3
16...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface

Having done this, the system seems happy for me to close this down and then use the laptop as normal.  Whilst it appears to be something "harmless" and on the face of it, does not seem to be impeding the running of the laptop, this is something new and I am curious as to
a) why this is happening
b) whether it does affect the running of the laptop in some way
c) how I can stop it/rectify it so that the laptop starts up smoothly
I have been through the Control Panel, Device Manager stuff to check whether any of the adapter software needs updating in some way, but it suggests all is okay.
Any help/thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Click Start --> All Programs --> Startup
Is the file in there?
If so, drag it on to the desktop.

Re: Laptop rebuild and Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

Thanks for your reply.
I have looked at Startup and can see no trace of the file there.  Having done some more digging I have found it in
Network -> DAVIDANDJOY-PC -> Users -> David
I tried to cut it and paste it onto a USB, in the hope of seeing what would happen without it on startup, but it said access is denied
"You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this file"
When looking in the Startup program file, I only found two folders
FancyStart daemon
SRS Premium Sound
Would be more than happy to experiment, if you have any other thoughts?Huh
Thanks again
