Kaspersky with Barclays Internet Banking

Hi all,
Not sure if you're aware, but Barclays are doing an offer where if you use their internet banking you can apply for a year's license for Kaspersky.
Follow the link when you log on, you enter your membership number on a form. They give you a download link and key within a couple of days.
I just got mine, and even better it's valid for 3 PC's.
I'm using AVG Free like probably a lot of us, and I don't know what Kaspersky is like (I'll try it later).
For free though, I don't think that is a bad deal Smiley

Re: Kaspersky with Barclays Internet Banking

@Alex
I thought you were having problems accessing your Barclays online account via Kaspersky and was about to suggest that as I use Kaspersky, if you were to PM me your Barclays login details I would try to access the account from here and see if it works.
However you don't appear to be having any problems so that won't be necessary. Smiley

Hmm, wonder if the key will work with 2010 then?
If it doesn't block Strat's post, then I won't rate the Phishing filter Grin

Re: Kaspersky with Barclays Internet Banking

It should work with 2010, generally the keys allow an upgrade to the next version.  I had 2007 from Aria and it upgraded to 09 without issue (least I think it was 09).

Re: Kaspersky with Barclays Internet Banking

Upgrading with Kaspersky is normally no problem unlike Norton used to be.
There was a problem with OEM licenses at one time but when I pointed to the clause in the OEM EULA to Kaspersky UK  I got a new key

Re: Kaspersky with Barclays Internet Banking

I've been running it for a week or so on Vista, replacing Spy Doctor (which I've used for a couple of years). I've found it much less processor-greedy, and it immediately found some Malware items that needed attention. Since its got loads and loads of configuration/setting choices, it can take up more time in getting it running as wished, but thats no real problem. I'm very pleased with it, but unless the offer continues after 12 months in some way, I'd be unlikely to pay the current prices to continue. AVG-Free on my second (XP) machine works well too, and that would be my choice for an alternative.

Jack, if you look for the OEM version, its around £6-9 rather than the £40 that Kaspersky want Smiley

Re: Kaspersky with Barclays Internet Banking

Wow....what a surprise - yes, I've now found several suppliers in that price range; thats very good value indeed. In that case, I wouldn't be surprised if the Barclays Offer is extended after 12 months, but if not, then the price is right!
Thanks.
