Just bought a new Canon Pixma printer/scanner, help!

Has anybody here bought one of these as mine is driving me nuts.

For some reason it will only scan images as a PDF file which means I cannot edit the image in any way. The first time I tried to do this it was fine but now......

Guess I'll just have to read that manual if nobody knows!

Have you tried scanning direct to a third party program like irfanview?

I can't help really but one possibility is that you are using the Copy Function rather than Scan

A quick check - you probably need to select Custom Scan to change it

Re: Just bought a new Canon Pixma printer/scanner, help!

Easy to do (Pixma 3120)

using Canon MP Navigator EX free software

Click the "Save to PC" icon

Change "Save as type" to JPEG/Exif  or TIFF or BMP

Choose the other options to suit and you are away.

Re: Just bought a new Canon Pixma printer/scanner, help!

When the scanned file appears, go to top l/h corner of screen, and click on Save. You can scroll down dialog box and choose other image file formats. If you want something like Word or Excel, an online converter may be an answer.

Memory fades quicky, but I cannot recall that with older Canon scanners the output choice being wider. BTW my model is MG6850.

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.
