its been that way ever since w98se2 and dsl became mainstream ..... its nothing new and Microsoft telemetry data has been around since w3.1 all that's changed is it no longer needs to spam you with w.e.r. popups each time it sends /receives data.

as normal scare mongers are displaying an inherent lack of knowledge and utilising buzzwords trying to create a panic about something that hasn't changed in 20 years /
