Javascript being progressively removed in browsers - or is it - it isn't see accepted fix

At least in Microsoft Edge and I wonder when or if  the others will do it

Why am I bothered - because the two websites I look after both using Wordpress have the email addresses munged using javascript and one of them uses Jetpack which also appears to need javascript

Re: Javascript being progressively removed in browsers - or is it

I got a "popup" notice saying there was a Java update.... tried it... but it kept failing.....  running latest version of FIrefox 64 bit...

I seem to remember from some time back something about FF not supporting Java any more on new(er) updates...

Can`t say I`ve had any problems...

Virtually all web sites use Javascript, so its tough luck if you are forced to use a defective browser.

you've made the mistake of assuming that java is the same as javascript, which it isn't.

schoolboy error.

all browsers have the ability to disable javascript, but that option is always turned off by default, because as has already been said, enabling it would make 99% of websites useless.

if Edge is forcing it on then stop using Edge.

Fix

Where have you found that?  Edge has increased its Javascript compatibility with each update so far, and I've not heard of that stopping.

From numerous searches and it appears that it was all rubbish as I just tried my two sites using Edge and - guess what - it all worked Shocked Shocked

Must be said I would be a bit shocked if such a drastic change happened so quickly like that.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Yeah, well...... we ain`t all super computer techies.... that`s why I ask for help on here sometimes...

realisiticlally, I haven`t a clue what Java or Javascript do... to me, it s just something that is on the computer, and does something on something else, and my computer works.   do I really need to know more than that ?  if so, perhaps you will be kind enough to give me some private tuition.

Java is the one with thousands of bugs in it.
