In the course of collecting data on Broadband performance I tried BT Speedtester which told me that I do not have Java as a part of my browser. Years ago I remember installing an ad-on in FF but cannot find it any more. Any clues out there?

Thanks lads, all is well.
I found a battery of icedtea and associated Java like things on Synaptic and duly installed them. FF3 liked that and speedtester.bt.com did as well. Funnily enough Googleing only found a lot of related stuff, largely commercial equivalents but not the exact IRL ()which I had forgotten). I find t surprising that the Update Manager did not bring up icedtea etc in the normal way.
