Hi,
I am having a problem installing itunes on my windows xp pro computer. Each time I try to install it comes up with an error saying the path "program files" has an illegal character and then it aborts the installation.
This is driving me nuts! I have just purchased an ipod shuffle and at the moment I am unable to use it.
Can any one help with this problem or give me a work around that will allow me to use my ipod shuffle?
Regards,
Jevo

Hi Jevo
Are you using the default path for installation? If not make sure you havn't included any of these "\\/:*?\"<>|"; As they are not allowed as part of the filename.
If this doesnt help can you copy the exact installation path you are using and error message here?

Does iTunes show up under your programmes in add/remove programmes in control panels? Also, is there a folder for it under C:\Program Files?
I'd try uninstalling the programme (if relevant) and deleting the folder (if relevant).
