I'm a long-term Yahoo! mail user with emails going back 10years ...
Last night Yahoo bombed and I deleted the account and reinstated it. It did not pick up all me old emails!
Various attempts at using TC have got me so far but still Yahoo works in Webmail but not on my iMac.
Very frustrating!
So, I have 10yrs of emails which are now not visible and no Yahoo incoming on my iMac!
DOH!
Kind Regards
Hugh

Are all the previous emails visible in the webmail? You didn't specify this and is quite important to whether you can 'recover' them.
That's RPM to you!!

I run an IMAP mail retriever (against Gmail) using the getmail program on Linux.
This leaves the current mail on the server and doesn't change the read/unread status.
It's all controlled by a cron job.
It writes each mail (with headers) into a separate file.
I shall have trouble if I ever need to re-constitute this into mail threads.

Thanks for the replies guys!
It turns out that it was initially Yahoo! being cautious and ultimately requiring a 'one-off' password to be used. That woke up Yahoo! mail on my iMac.
I recovered the Old Mail via TC.
The webmail would only see current mail and not anything that had been archived.
So I'm there but really not a fan of Yahoo mail.
Again - thanks for your efforts.
Hugh

Quote from: h_milsom not a fan of Yahoo mail.
Don't worry Hugh, they've been trying to eliminate millions of members of their userbase the last couple of years. I'm sure you're not alone.
I've certainly lost all my respect for Yahoo since being forced to switch to the new awful version of their webmail. So much so I have started on my own which will have all of the old mails features plus a few more. When it's done I'll be pop'ing all my emails down into a mysql database and leaving them for good.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
